The Company announces that a copy of a letter from Guinness Peat Group plc
relating to their requisitioned resolutions, to be put to shareholders at the
Company's forthcoming Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 16 July 2002 has been
circulated to all shareholders together with a written response from the
Chairman of Young & Co.'s Brewery PLC.
Copies of the above documents have also been submitted to the UK Listing
Authority and will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing
Authority's Document Viewing Facility, which is situated at:
