GUINNESS PEAT RESOLUTIONS REJECTED
At the Annual General Meeting of Young & Co's Brewery PLC held
earlier today, the three resolutions proposed by 7.5% shareholder,
Guinness Peat Group, were rejected, in each case on a show of
hands.
Commenting on the result, John Young, Chairman of Young & Co said:
'For the second year running, shareholders have overwhelmingly
rejected proposals from Guinness Peat to alter the share structure
of the company. We very much hope that Guinness Peat will now
accept the outcome of this vote. The Board has a clear mandate
from shareholders to continue the implementation of its strategy
and I look forward to announcing further progress in the months
ahead, which will be of benefit to all shareholders.'
