Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Ld
29 November 1999
Suspension of listing
Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Limited ('ZCCM') announced in
August 1998 that it had signed an agreement with Chambishi
Metals PLC relating to the disposal by ZCCM of the Chambishi
Cobalt and Acid Plants and Nkana Slag Dumps. This transaction
closed on 11 September 1998.
Pending the despatch of a circular to ZCCM's shareholders
concerning the disposal by ZCCM of the Chambishi Cobalt and
Acid Plants and Nkana Slag Dumps, ZCCM has today requested the
London Stock Exchange to suspend, with immediate effect, the
listing of its 'B' ordinary shares. This circular will be
despatched as soon as reasonably practicable.
It is anticipated that the circular will also provide
information on, and seek shareholder approval of, ZCCM's
proposed disposal of the Nchanga and Konkola Divisions and the
Konkola Deep Mining Project to Zambia Copper Investments
Limited and its partners announced on 27 October 1999.
