VANE Minerals Plc
('the Company')
Appointment of Uranium Exploration Manager
VANE Minerals Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Frank Bain as
Exploration Manager of its wholly owned uranium subsidiary, VANE Minerals (US)
LLC.
Mr. Bain brings to the Company a high level of relevant expertise in uranium
exploration, having worked as an exploration geologist with Kerr McGee Minerals
in Wyoming and also with Energy Reserves Group specifically on uranium breccia
pipes in northern Arizona. Most recently, Mr. Bain was Field Office Geologist
for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and so also brings invaluable experience
in U.S. permitting procedures.
Following the decline in uranium prices in the 1980's, Mr. Bain entered base and
precious metals exploration with Asarco, a major copper miner in the US, and
managed projects including the San Manuel Project. As a consulting geologist, he
also managed projects for BHP Billiton, Phelps Dodge Mining, TVX Gold and
Pegasus Gold.
Mr. Bain holds B.Sc. degrees in both Geology and Land Management and has 30
years professional experience in the industry. He is also a Registered
Professional Geologist in the State of Wyoming.
Matthew Idiens, Director of Corporate Development commented: 'We welcome Frank
as Exploration Manager to VANE's uranium team. As we are all aware, there is a
dramatic skills shortage in the mining industry internationally, but
particularly in uranium given that the industry entered a major downturn in the
1980's. It is therefore of great benefit to VANE to gain a geologist with
Frank's level of uranium exploration expertise to strengthen our existing pool
of uranium knowledge, particularly with regards to the specialised areas of both
breccia pipes and stratabound deposits.'

About VANE Minerals:
Since December 2004, VANE Minerals has built a substantial uranium portfolio of
properties in the US; initially targeting the Northern Arizona Breccia Pipe
District which holds the highest grade deposits in the US.
The Company is using the silver/gold production at the Diablito mine in Mexico
to help fund exploration work across its attractive portfolio of uranium as well
as base and precious metal prospects.
VANE was founded by the former international exploration team of
Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., one of the world's largest producers of
copper and gold. The Company has assembled a highly qualified and experienced
management team with a proven track record in exploration and development, who
have spent their entire careers searching for and defining large scale mineral
deposits.
