Appointment of Non-executive Chairman for Northgate España

Northgate plc ("the Company"), the UK and Spain's leading specialist in light commercial vehicle hire, announces that Jan Astrand, a Non-executive Director of the Company, has been appointed as Non-executive Chairman of the Board of its wholly-owned subsidiary Northgate España Renting Flexible S.A. ("Northgate España") with immediate effect.  The main purpose of the appointment is to reintroduce direct representation on the Board of Northgate España, a role for which Jan is ideally suited as he is permanently resident in Spain and fluent in Spanish.  The appointment would be for an initial term of one year.

This announcement is made pursuant to paragraph 9.6.11 of the Listing Rules.
