Changes to Directorate Responsibilities

Northgate PLC ('Northgate' or the 'Company'), the UK's leading specialist in
light commercial vehicle hire, announces  that following the statement on 8
August 2005 announcing the completion of the acquisition of the initial 49 per
cent  of the issued share capital of Record Rent a Car S.A. ('Record Rent'), Jan
Astrand, a Non-Executive Director of the  Company, has been appointed to the
board of Record Rent.  Jan will continue to sit on the board of Fualsa,
Northgate's  existing wholly owned Spanish subsidiary. Steve Smith and Ged
Murray have also been appointed to the board of Record  Rent.

As a consequence Tom Brown has been appointed to take over the role of Chairman
of the Remuneration Committee from Jan  Astrand with immediate effect.
