Acquisition consolidation and new contract win - Ten Alps consolidates Singapore acquisitions and wins new BBC World News TV contract for Asia
Multimedia producer Ten Alps Plc ("Ten Alps") has developed its business in Singapore, by consolidating online and publishing operations, and signing a new TV contract for Asian markets with BBC World News and BBC.com to cover advertiser-funded programming.
Merger of acquired businesses in print and online
Ten Alps Communications Asia ("TACA") has merged the business publications acquired from Reed Business Information Asia with the online search marketing business acquired from Interface Media. Both were acquired in January 2010.
From a single Singapore hub, the aim is to acquire, build and grow the business across the Asia region. (For the new address, see below.) A satellite office is also set to open in China by the end of May 2010.
Raymond Wong, Chief Executive of TACA said: "We are targeting key trade sectors which we know have pan-Asian appeal. It's clear that the Asian B2B media markets are underserved and offer attractive growth and consolidation opportunities."
New BBC TV contract from Singapore
BBC World News has appointed Ten Alps Asia TV as its editorial creative agent for TV programme production across television and online, for BBC World News and BBC.com, for Asia and South-East Asia.
Ten Alps Asia TV will work closely with BBC World News to provide research and creative briefs for advertiser-funded programming - following success of the recent series 'The Projectors,' (sponsored by Lexus) and 'The Year Book ' (sponsored by Chivas), both produced by Ten Alps Asia TV.
Paul Gibbs, Head of Programming for BBC World News said today:
'South-East Asia is becoming increasingly important to us. We have a strong audience in the region, and now we want more content produced from there. Sarah Macdonald, at Ten Alps Asia TV, will work closely with the BBC World News team, and other independent production houses wanting to work with BBC World News. '
Ten Alps Asia TV also recently won two-one hour commissions for regional documentaries from AETN All Asian Network (The History Channel and Crime & Investigation).
