Ten Alps: Strategic Alliance with global marketing group Radiate
Ten Alps Communications PLC ('Ten Alps'), the media group, announces agreement
of a strategic alliance with the US-based, global event-marketing firm, The
Radiate Group ('Radiate'), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Omnicom Group, the
international marketing communications company.
The alliance, agreed by Ten Alps subsidiary Ten Alps Events, is to offer
brand-driven content in the form of event marketing and entertainment
programming to Radiate's global client list - which has recently included
Mercedez-Benz, Heinz, McDonalds, SAB Miller, Adidas, Budweiser, Telefonica, HP,
Deutsche Telecom and Microsoft.
Radiate lists 27 member agencies in 12 countries and offers branded
entertainment projects which can involve several marketing disciplines at once -
including internet, mobile telephony, sponsorship of TV entertainment and event
management.
Said Bob Geldof, a non-executive director of Ten Alps: 'There is a necessary
convergence of media, brands and content, because if marketing isn't relevant to
the lifestyle of consumers, it will just get tuned-out with all the other noise.
Brand-driven content is going strong in the US, and Europe is not far behind.
This market is important to us.'
Marc Bushala, Managing Director for Radiate in Europe, said: ''Radiate has been
working with a number of clients on the creation of branded entertainment -
seeking ways to make their brand an intractable part of the entertainment
content as opposed to an interruption. Increasingly, our clients want creative
and impactful programs that allow their brands to connect and engage consumers,
not just a 30-second spot.'
Ten Alps Events' most recent marketing success was its work with Orange on the
Brightening Up London campaign over Christmas. Other recent corporate clients
have included Corus, EMI, Sony Playstation, RMC, NCR and L'Oreal.
Access to corporate clients at a high-level is the key driver, since budgets for
big-ticket items like major sporting or civic events tend to be controlled at
board level.
Said Alex Connock, Chief Executive of Ten Alps: 'This is a non-exclusive deal
which aims to create major contracts, so if it works we could see improvement on
roughly a 12-month timescale and beyond.'
