NEW CONTRACTS Brook Lapping Productions has been commissioned to produce.... * A documentary for delivery in Summer 2004 on Harold Shipman for ITV, which will most likely be 90 minutes in length. Producer-Director is Carole Peters, whose series 'To Kill and Kill Again' on ITV in 2002 included programmes on 'Jack the Ripper', 'The Wests' and 'The Moors Murderers'. * A six-part series for ITV about life in a women's prison., working-title 'Bulwood'. Furthermore, Brook Lapping Productions is in agreement to produce.... * Three one-hour films for BBC2 and international broadcasters, entitled 'Elusive Peace', covering the recent history of diplomatic efforts between Israel and the Palestinians. The programmes are to be produced by Norma Percy, who most recently produced the multi-award-winning series 'The Fall of Milosevic.' AWARDS Producers Brian and Anne Lapping will be awarded two Gold Medals at the International New York Festivals on Friday 30 January: Brian, for 'The Fall of Milosevi' (BBC2), on which he worked with Norma Percy and Dai Richards; Anne, for 'Maggie: The First Lady' (ITV) on which she worked with Jane Bonham Carter and Nick London. Brook Lapping has a strong history of documentary production. In 2002-3, Brook Lapping and its directors won five awards: the first documentary award given by the annual television news journalists' annual conference, News World; the International Current Affairs award of the Royal Television Society; the Alan Clarke award given by BAFTA for its 'outstanding creative contribution to television'; the Harvey Lee award of the Broadcasting Press Guild for its 'distinguished and innovatory contribution to television documentary'; and, a gold medal from the New York Film and Television Festival for its programme 'I met Adolf Eichmann'. In 2003, TV production by Ten Alps involved programmes for BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4, Five, Bravo, Discovery and PBS. Last November, Brook Lapping signed a contract to produce a pilot for Teachers' TV, a fully-funded TV channel for the DFES. Brook Lapping owns 70% of the consortium producing the channel. Carlton have 20%. Other current TV production included the political show, 'The Sharp End with Clive Anderson, 'I met Osama Bin Laden', 'Pax Americana', 'Spy Secrets' for Five, John Thompson stands up for comedy, and a five-part series with Jeremy Vine, featuring interviews with stars such as Sting.
