Ten Alps Communications plc: Event Marketing Project
Expansion of Successful Brightening Up London Event Overseas
Ten Alps Communications PLC ('Ten Alps'), the diversified media group, announces
that following the success of its 'Brightening Up London' event during December,
the project is being expanded to include other countries in December 2004.
Brightening Up London consisted of huge images being projected onto Buckingham
Palace and nine other of the capital's most famous buildings each evening
throughout December 2003, including Wellington Arch at Hyde Park Corner, from 3
December until New Year's Eve. The images, many designed by celebrities such as
Kylie Minogue, David Bailey, Naomi Campbell and Damien Hurst, were featured
prominently on the front pages of a number of national newspapers.
The London event was fully sponsored by mobile phone company Orange and was
conceived by Bob Geldof, a non-executive director of Ten Alps. On several
evenings the Mall had to be closed as thousands of people watched as Buckingham
Palace itself was lit up with a huge Union Jack and snowflakes, amongst other
striking images.
Ten Alps is currently in discussions with cities in Europe, including Ireland
and Russia, as well as other UK cities for a proposed major expansion of the
event concept next December.
Said event creator Bob Geldof, a non-executive director of Ten Alps: 'We have
had considerable interest in developing the project for the new year. The signs
are good that many other cities will be interested in this type of event.'
Ten Alps derives its revenues from three areas: TV production, radio production
and advertising and event marketing, latterly, to promote a brand or product
concept. In 2003, live events, which often involves TV, were created and
marketed for MSN, Sony, EMI, Corus, Orange, O2, RMC and NCR. These included
roadshows, conferences and product launches. .
