New Business Contracts

Ten Alps Communications PLC 20 September 2001 TEN ALPS COMMUNICATIONS PLC ('Ten Alps' or 'the Company') NEW BUSINESS CONTRACTS Ten Alps today announced a range of new business contracts, which have been signed in the seven weeks following the Company's admission to trading on AIM on July 27. New business contracts include: * TV production deals with a UK broadcaster for a total of 25 new programmes in two series. * Agreements for Ten Alps subsidiary Dr Party to host events for MSN and Microsoft, including the Microsoft UK Christmas party 2001, as well as an event hosted at the Big Brother house plus a number of smaller events for clients such as Karen Millen. * Further advertising work for the German firm Bahlsen Biscuits, including a TV campaign, as well as new UK work for MDL Luxury Marinas. Total new business signed by the Company in this seven-week period exceeds £ 750,000, in addition to its existing advertising and broadcast contracts and the £169,000 deal which was announced on July 27. 'Our pursuit of new business in TV, radio and advertising has yielded early results, despite the state of the markets and wider gloom in the advertising industry,' commented CEO Alex Connock. 'We have not seen any significant drop in the year-on-year spend of our existing major advertising clients or major broadcast clients such as the BBC.' Finance Director Nitil Patel added, 'We believe we are financially well-resourced. At close of business on September 19, the Company had just over £3m cash in the bank and a positive net asset position. £3m represents around half the approximately £6m market capitalisation of Ten Alps at the market close on 19 September. Total audited turnover to March 31, 2001 was £ 8.845m for the four operating companies which went on to form the new group following the July 27 merger.' Events around Formula One Grand Prix Ten Alps has also signed agreements to develop potential events in the future, including shows and associated corporate entertainment, around F1 Grand Prix at Melbourne and Budapest 2002. This motor racing deal comes on top of the announcement in July that Ten Alps was sourcing possible events around eighteen F1 powerboat competitions worldwide and the Indy 300 Grand Prix on the Gold Coast in Australia. 'At the time of our admission to AIM we said that we would be looking to scale up globally into significant sponsorship markets by developing events around major sporting brands for 2002, and these are the first steps in that process,' said Connock.
