TEN ALPS ANNOUNCES TEACHERS TV IN THAILAND

Multimedia factual producer Ten Alps Plc ("Ten Alps" or the "Company") announces that Teachers TV, the digital channel and website for those in education, has agreed its first international partnership to launch a Teachers TV service, in Thailand.

The Thailand partnership, which comes as the channel celebrates its fifth anniversary in the UK, will see Teachers TV offering consultancy and training to the new Thai channel as well as selling in hundreds of its programmes which will be shown with Thai subtitles.

The pilot channel is scheduled to start transmitting in April 2010 with a full channel and website launch in the autumn.

Ten Alps is the majority shareholder in the company that operates Teachers TV which is funded through a contract with the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).

Andrew Bethell, chief executive and creative director of Teachers TV, said:

"The Teachers TV model is proving to be widely applicable to the world's education workforce. As we celebrate five years here at the UK, I feel we've succeeded in showing that teacher training can be delivered through high quality video across a range of digital platforms.

I look forward to working with the Thai channel and feel confident that this is just the beginning for the development of Teachers TV around the world, given that we have already received significant interest from various other countries."

On 22nd January 2010, the Teachers TV team at Education Digital and the Teachers TV Project team at the DCSF met with Mr Chaiwuiti Bunnawat, the Thai Deputy Education Minister to discuss the development of the new channel.

The development of the channel in Thailand was first brought to government level by Mr. Sumate Yamnon, Secretary General, Office of the Higher Education Commission and Permanent Secretary in charge of Teacher training and Professional Development in Thailand, who was able to raise funds through a government stimulus package.
