Ten Alps Communications PLC 19 December 2002 Ten Alps wins awards and new business in TV and Radio Media company Ten Alps Communications has won awards and contracts in its TV division. 'These wins are indicative of a healthy picture in this important sector of our business,' said Chief Executive Alex Connock. Awards In the 2003 Broadcast Awards 2003 nominations Ten Alps Brook Lapping has been nominated for Best Documentary Programme and Best International Programme for its Channel 4 programme, Avenging Terror. This programme also was also recently described as 'astonishing and revelatory' when its producers Brian Lapping and Norma Percy won the current affairs award at News World Dublin. New Contracts Significant new contracts have been signed with Channel 4, Animal Planet, and Channel 5 by TV division Brook Lapping, which has now closed £1.5m in new deals since acquisition in November 2002 (this is the £1.46m referred to in the interim results announcement of last week.) Brook Lapping's major documentary series 'Maggie,' the political biography of Margaret Thatcher, begins on ITV in the New Year. Radio division Ten Alps Broadcasting has exceeded previous years' figures for commissioned programmes from BBC Radio 2, with a number of big new series commissions.
