                               Board Appointment
                                       
The Board of Zotefoams plc ('Zotefoams') is pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr Clifford Hurst as Finance Director of the company  with
effect from 2 October 2000. Mr Hurst will succeed Mr David Stirling who was
appointed Managing Director in May 2000.

Mr Hurst, aged 37, was Commercial Director and before that Finance Director of
Thermos Limited, the manufacturer of vacuum flasks. Prior to joining Thermos
Limited, Mr Hurst qualified as an accountant with Ernst and Young and held a
number of financial positions at ICI plc, Zeneca plc and Caradon plc.
