Zytronic PLC 3 December 2001 ZYTRONIC PLC Management Changes - New CEO appointed In order to strengthen the management of the business, Ian Lawson joined the group at the beginning of October and was appointed to the Board of Zytronic Plc as Chief Executive Officer on 30 November 2001. Ian has substantial plc experience at managing director and operations director level and will be a strong addition to the board of your company. In addition David Huntley, who has a wealth of experience in the sales and marketing of technical products to large Blue Chip companies, was appointed to the Board of Zytronic Displays Limited, the group's principal subsidiary on 1 November 2001 to head up the sales and marketing of Zytouch. Ian Bruce Lawson, aged 54, has broad experience across a range of manufacturing and technology companies. He was until recently employed by Gartland Whalley and Barker plc, during which time he was Chief Executive of Cirqual plc - a listed company; non-executive director of Aquarius Group plc - a listed company; and a non-executive director of various unlisted manufacturing and distribution groups. Prior to this he was Chief Executive of the Closure group of companies, part of Wassall plc, which included responsibility for the UK, Holland, Italy, South Africa and other international subsidiaries. His initial career from 1970 to 1980 was as a management consultant before becoming Managing Director of a family owned business after which he worked for the major industrial conglomerates Murray & Roberts and Barlow Rand as Managing Director of various subsidiaries. David Huntley, aged 45, joined from Belt Technologies Inc, a US company which he joined in 1988 becoming Managing Director in 1994. The company is a world leader in the design, manufacture and sale of precision steel belts, drive tapes and complementary pulleys. He led the MBOs of Belt Technologies and Energy Beam Sciences from TI Group and as Managing Director of Belt significantly increased sales and profitability. John Kennair, Chairman commented: 'These two new appointments will add great strength to the overall management of the business and the development of the new markets for Zytouch. The initial response to the product has been very positive, the first contracts have been won and a joint marketing programme with Synaptics Inc is due to commence in January.
