LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 2002--
ARC International PLC Company Update
ARC International plc (LSE: ARK), a world leader in semiconductors
and software technology licensing, today announces further details on
the Company's intention to return £50m of capital to shareholders
before the end of the first half of 2003.
Following discussions with the Company's advisers and
shareholders, the Board has reviewed alternative methods of payment
and believes that a share buy back will be the most effective means by
which to return capital.
The return of capital is subject to shareholder and other
approvals. A circular will be sent to shareholders as soon as
practicable, which will set out the details of the proposed share buy
back, convene an EGM to approve, inter alia, the reduction of the
share premium account, and authorise the creation of a new
distributable reserve.
