Watermark Global Plc (“Watermark†or the “Companyâ€)
Appointment of Director
18 August 2011
The Directors of Watermark Global Plc (Watermark) are pleased to announce the appointment of Hartley Dikgale LL.M as a non-executive director of the Company with immediate effect.
Mr Dikgale (51) is a South African lawyer and is currently General Counsel of Rand Uranium (Pty) Ltd. to whom he advises on corporate development, project permitting and management of water resources, including the challenges of AMD. He sits on their Audit and Risk, as well as Investment Committees.
After lecturing in law at Vista University in Pretoria, he joined Old Mutual as legal adviser and then moved in 1997 to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa as Senior Manager in their legal affairs department for 4 years.
In 2001 he moved to Rand Water Board as Manager of their legal department before joining Pamodzi Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd. as an executive director. He joined his current firm in April 2010 and has 18 years of experience in corporate life with particular emphasis on commercial deals, negotiations, development of business opportunities, and managing both government and regulatory bodies. He is a member of the Black Lawyers’ Association and the Black Management Forum.
At the same time, Adam Gunn has decided to retire from the board of Watermark due to his increasing full time commitments. Adam joined First Uranium (Pty) Ltd. at the end of 2010 and has found his role there as legal adviser taking up an increasing amount of time to the extent that he feels he can no longer devote the requisite amount of time to the Board of Watermark.
Hartley Dikgale is or has been a director of the following companies in
the last five years:
Pamodzi Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd.
Pamodzi
Resources (Pty) Ltd.
Inyosi Coal (Pty) Ltd.
Cross Border Road
Transport Agency
Pamodzi Coal (Pty) Ltd.
There are no other
disclosures required under Schedule 2 paragraph (g) of the AIM rules.
Peter Marks, Chairman of Watermark, said: “We are delighted that Hartley has agreed to join the Board. He will provide us with very broad expertise in several crucial areas and already has extensive experience of dealing with government and its agencies. This will be of enormous benefit to us in negotiations between the Company and the various regulatory bodies in South Africa, where environmental, regulatory and related issues are of increasing importance.
At the same time I would like to thank Adam for his contribution to the Board. He has been helpful in terms of negotiations, contacts and drafting documents. He joined the Company in August 2008 and has been a strong supporter of our cause ever since.â€
