APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Board of Amlin plc ('Amlin') is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr
Martin (Marty) Feinstein, as an independent non-executive Director of Amlin, to
take effect on 1 December 2007.
Mr Feinstein, who is aged 59 and a US citizen, was Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of Farmers Group Inc ('Farmers') from 1997 to 2005, when he retired
after 35 years' service with that group. By 2005, Farmers was the third largest

premium revenue, 17.8 million policy holders and 18,500 employees.
Whilst Farmers was owned by BAT and then by Allied Zurich, he served in turn as
a director of the FTSE 100 companies, B.A.T. Industries p.l.c. and Allied Zurich
p.l.c., from 1997 to 1998 and 1998 to 2000 respectively.
He is currently a non-executive Director of Reynolds American Inc ('Reynolds'),
which is listed on the NYSE, Clear Technology Inc and GeoVera Insurance Ltd. The
former two companies are incorporated in the USA and the latter in Bermuda.
Roger Taylor, Chairman of Amlin, said, 'Marty Feinstein was an outstanding CEO
of Farmers, one of the leading US insurers, and we look forward to his
contribution to our Board'.
Other than Mr Feinstein's directorship of Reynolds American Inc, there are no
matters relating to this appointment that are required to be announced under
paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules.
