RULE 2.10 UPDATE ON RELEVANT SECURITIES IN ISSUE

In accordance with Rule 2.10 of the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers, Amlin
plc ('Amlin') announces that, following issues of shares resulting from
exercises of share options by option holders who are not Directors of Amlin, the
issued share capital of Amlin is now 400,643,420 Ordinary Shares of 25p each
(under the ISIN: GB0000319581). Amlin has no other relevant securities in issue.
Recently issued shares in respect of share options are included within current
block listings granted by the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock
Exchange.
