TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 27 August 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

9,753 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 134.11 pence per share; and
8,480 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share 8,480 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 7,940,282 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 494,135,724 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
