TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 22 December 2010 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

5,683 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 266.00 pence per share.

879 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 146.49 pence per share.

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 5,894,081 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 496,181,925 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
