 Proposed Merger of Informa and Taylor & Francis to create a new force
                       in specialist information

Further to the announcement dated 2 March 2004 regarding the recommended merger
of Informa and Taylor & Francis, the Boards of Informa and Taylor & Francis
announce that the formal documents relating to the Merger are being posted to
shareholders today. The Merger is to be effected by way of a scheme of
arrangement.

Informa shareholders will receive a circular, convening an extraordinary general
meeting of Informa on 14 April 2004 to approve the Merger, together with listing
particulars containing financial information relating to Informa and Taylor &
Francis and pro forma financial information relating to the Enlarged Group.

Taylor & Francis shareholders will receive a circular containing details of the
scheme of arrangement, together with a copy of the Informa listing particulars.
The meetings in relation to the scheme will be held on 14 April 2004.

Timetable of Principal Events

--  14 April 2004 - Taylor & Francis Court Meeting and Taylor & Francis EGM
                  - Informa EGM

--  7 May 2004 - Last day of dealings in Taylor & Francis shares

--  10 May 2004 - Effective Date of the Scheme and commencement of dealings in
    new Informa shares

The London Stock Exchange and the UK Listing Authority will be requested
respectively to cancel trading in Taylor & Francis Shares on the London Stock
Exchange's market for listed securities with effect from the close of business
on 7 May 2004 and the listing of Taylor & Francis Shares from the Official List
with effect from 8.00a.m. on the Effective Date.

Listing Authority and will be available shortly for inspection by the public at

(Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays excepted) until the Merger becomes
effective.
