Marsh & McLennan Companies Names Ben Allen Chief Innovation Officer

Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (NYSE: MMC) today announced the appointment of Ben Allen, age 46, to the position of Chief Innovation Officer.

In this newly created role, Mr. Allen will partner with leadership teams at Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer and Oliver Wyman to create market-driven products and solutions that help drive growth for the firm as a whole. As Chief Innovation Officer, Mr. Allen becomes a member of the Marsh & McLennan Companies Executive Committee, reporting to Group President and Chief Operating Officer Dan Glaser.

Mr. Allen had previously been President and Chief Executive Officer of Kroll, Inc., a position he held since March 2008. Kroll was a unit of Marsh & McLennan Companies from 2004 until its sale to Altegrity in 2010. Prior to that, he held a number of leadership positions at Kroll, including Chief Operating Officer and, from 2002-2007, President of Kroll’s Ontrack subsidiary.
