Microgen plc - Company Secretary Change

Microgen plc announces the appointment of Anjum Siddiqi as Company Secretary
with effect from 7 October 2008. Anjum joined the Group in 2004 and since last
year has held the role of Group Legal Counsel.

The appointment has arisen following the departure of the former Company
Secretary, Gerry Liddle, after more than 18 years of performing the role. The
Board would like to thank Mr. Liddle for his contribution to the Company
throughout his period as Company Secretary.
