Concurrent Technologies Plc
Launch of new Single Board Computer
Concurrent Technologies Plc ("Concurrent") a world leading specialist in the
design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer products used in the
defence, transportation, communications and industrial markets, announces the
launch of a new CompactPCI® single board computer (SBC), the PP 412/03x.
In developing this new SBC, Concurrent is seeking to continue increasing its
revenue in markets where intensive data processing is required. These include
the telecommunications, defence, security, telemetry, scientific and aerospace
markets.
The product combines the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor with the Intel® E7520
chipset, providing an excellent performance upgrade, without detriment to power
consumption when compared to the existing CompactPCI® product line. In
practical terms, the PP 412/03x using the 2.16GHz Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor
demonstrates a significant increased performance per watt over the 2.0GHz Intel
® Pentium® M processor board it replaces, the PP 312/01x.
Concurrent will commence marketing for the PP 412/03x immediately; indeed a
number of existing and potentially new customers are in talks with a view to
evaluating it.
Glen Fawcett, Managing Director, Concurrent Technologies Plc, commented:
"Our latest Single Board Computer contains many new innovativefeatures to yield
greater processing power with more flexibility. Theuse of dual-core processing
is already proving very attractive for many of our customers,as well as
potential customers, and the fact that the product can also support 64-bit
operating systems is an exciting development for Concurrent and our customers."
