Concurrent Technologies Plc
Product Launch
New High Performance Processor board
Concurrent Technologies Plc ("Concurrent" or the "Company"), a world leading
specialist in the design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer
products, announces the launch of its latest high performance VME single board
computer, the VX 511/06x. The Company believes that this is a market-leading
product and is aimed specifically at existing and new applications within the
defence sector.
The new product not only offers improved performance when implemented in
existing projects, but also introduces many new high performance features
including the latest processing technology from Intel®. The board also features
up to 6GBytes of the very fast DDR3 memory and utilises the latest high speed
storage interfaces. Currently available in commercial and extended temperature
versions, rugged conduction-cooled variants will be introduced in the first
quarter of 2009.
This new board has the potential to be used in applications not previously
available to Intel® based processor boards, and presents the opportunity for
the Company to capitalise further on the migration to Intel® processor based
solutions. As such it is expected to attract new customers in addition to
current clients seeking to upgrade their applications' performance and
processing capabilities.
Glen Fawcett, Managing Director - Concurrent Technologies, commented:
"This product demonstrates once again our ability to use and introduce the
latest in high performance computing technology to the long term embedded
marketplace. With its much improved performance per Watt compared to earlier
generations, and the inclusion of the latest high speed devices and interfaces,
we see this product as being one of the first of its kind. This is not only in
terms of processing capabilities, but also as it was directly engineered for
applications within the defence market."
