This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.09(2) of the Rules Governing the
Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the "Company") announces that,
based on the Company's preliminary statistics, as of 30 September 2010, total
power generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (the "Group") amounted to
128.4277 billion kWh, representing an increase of 26.16% when compared to the
corresponding period of the previous year. Total on-grid power generation of
the Group amounted to 120.9334 billion kWh, representing an increase of 25.47%
when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The significant increase in power generation of the Group for the first three
quarters of 2010 over the corresponding period of the previous year was mainly
attributable to an increase in capacity of the operational generating units of
the Company and an increase in the demand for power in the society.

Details of the power generation of the Group for the first three quarters of
