Notice to the Stock Exchange
The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc (EIT) has appointed William (Will) Samuel as
a Non-Executive Director with effect from 21 October 2003.
Will Samuel (aged 51) was until recently Vice Chairman, European Investment
Banking at Citigroup and is currently Chairman of H.P. Bulmer Holdings.
After accountancy training, Will joined Schroders in 1977, specialising in
Corporate Finance. He was Schroders' Head of Investment Banking when the
Company was acquired by Citicorp in 2002.
Scott Dobbie, Chairman of EIT commented, "Will Samuel's wide ranging experience
in Corporate Finance makes him an excellent addition to the Board of EIT. We
are delighted that he has agreed to join us."

2) Schroders Plc
