The Board of Fidelity Japanese Values PLC is pleased to announce that David
Robins will be appointed as a non-executive Director of the Company on 1
February 2011.
David is Chairman of Oriel Securities Limited, the privately owned corporate
and institutional stockbroking and advisory firm and of Henderson TR Pacific
Investment Trust plc. In addition he is Chairman of the Governors of Eltham
College and Chairman of the Hackney Empire Limited.
Previously, David was Chairman and Chief Executive of ING Barings following a
number of years with UBS, most recently as Executive Vice President Europe and
Chief Operating Officer Region Europe having spent several years in,
Switzerland, New York and Japan. Prior to this he was, in succession, a
Japanese Economist at the Bank of England, an Executive in the Japanese
department of James Capel and then Far Eastern Economist and subsequently Chief
International Economist at Philips and Drew. David began his career with the
Commonwealth Bank in Sydney.
He is a Director of Meggitt plc, Hackney Empire Trading Limited and Bending
Light Limited and he is a member of European Film Partners I LLP, Eclipse Film
Partners No. 26 LLP and Blackheath Partners LLP.
He resigned as a Director of Forty Four Leisure Limited on 6 October 2010, of
EMG (IM) Limited on 12 May 2010, of Comjo Limited on 28 April 2010, of New
Philanthropy Capital on 24 March 2010, of B F Restaurants Limited on 11
November 2009, of NPC Trading Limited on 17 September 2009, of LCH.Clearnet
Limited on 1 November 2007, of RWC Partners Limited on 21 October 2007, of East
London Business Alliance Charity on 11 July 2007, and of Interinvestment
Finance Company Limited on 4 July 2007.
He ceased to be a Designated Member of EMG Investment Advisory LLP on 12 May
2010.
It is confirmed that there is no further information to be disclosed under
Listing Rule 9.6.13R (2) to (6).
