Exercise of option

EP GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES TRUST plc (the "Company")

The Company announces that it has today given notice of exercise of the option
(the "EP Option") held by it over 71,294 ordinary shares of the Company's
investment manager, Edinburgh Partners Limited ("EPL"). The EP Option was
granted to the Company at the time of its initial admission to listing and is
exercisable at the price of £3.00 per EPL ordinary share.

As at 31 December 2007, the Directors valued the EP Option at £900,000,
equivalent at that date to 2.8p per ordinary share of the Company. On the issue
of the EPL ordinary shares following exercise, the Company will hold
approximately 1.75 per cent. of the issued ordinary shares of EPL.
