TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc
advises that on 3 July 2007 it transferred 80,444 Ordinary Shares currently
held in Treasury to satisfy awards under the `Hays plc 1995 Executive Share
Option Scheme' and the Hays 2003 Long-Term Co-Investment Plan'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 116,624,187 Ordinary Shares in
Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,447,472,379 (excluding treasury
shares).
