TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc
advises that on 6 March 2007 it transferred 10,000 Ordinary Shares currently
held in Treasury to satisfy the Hays plc Long-Term Co-Investment Plan maturity
and sale of `matching shares'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 110,486,995 Ordinary Shares in
Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,453,609,571 (excluding treasury
shares).
