Oxford Instruments plc has been notified by BT Pension Scheme Trustees Limited
as trustee of the BT Pension Scheme of their position held as at 20 January
2007 in compliance with the FSA's new Disclosure and Transparency Rules as
follows:
BT Pension Scheme Trustees Limited as trustee of the BT Pension Scheme has an
interest in 5,923,018 (82,913 Direct and 5,840,105 Indirect) Ordinary Shares of
5p each which, represents 12.085% of the issued share capital of the Company.
The number of voting rights is also 5,923,018.
BT Pension Scheme Trustees Limited is the parent undertaking of Britel Fund
Trustees Limited, which is the parent undertaking of Hermes Pensions Management
Limited. Hermes Pensions Management Limited is the parent undertaking of:

0.911%)
