The Directors are pleased to announce that Ian Barby has accepted an invitation
to join the Board as a non-executive Director with effect from 28 April 2005.
Mr Barby, born in 1945, was a Managing Director of Merrill Lynch Investment
Managers until 2003 and has wide experience of the investment management
industry, and of the investment trust sector. He is currently Chairman of
Martin Currie European Investment Trust plc and of Ecofin Water and Power
Opportunities plc.
Mr Barby is a director of the following publicly quoted companies:
Merrill Lynch World Mining Trust plc
Invesco Perpetual UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc
Ecofin Water and Power Opportunities plc
Martin Currie European Investment Trust plc
There are no details required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 6.F.2(b) to
(g) of the UKLA Listing Rules.
