Parity Group plc
Board Change
Parity Group plc ('Parity' or 'the Group') announces that Philip Swinstead has
been appointed to the Board as non-executive Chairman with immediate effect. As
indicated previously, Bill Cockburn leaves the Board on this appointment.
Philip Swinstead OBE (61) was the founder of Parity in 1993 and Chairman until
2001, retiring due to a serious illness. He previously founded SD-Scicon in
1969 which became the first software company to go public in London in 1982 and
was Chief Executive until the business was acquired by EDS in 1991. He also
created a management buy-out in France which became a major quoted French IT
services group.
Philip Swinstead said:
'Firstly I would like to thank Bill Cockburn for leading the company through a
difficult three years. Having fully recovered I am now looking forward to the
challenge and am determined that the Group will focus again on delivering
shareholder value. We have excellent businesses with the highest calibre of
people, well regarded in all of our markets. We must build a predictable
business on this platform which performs consistently.
To this end I intend to carry out personally a strategic review of all aspects
of the Group and will report back to shareholders at the time of our
preliminary results announcement.'
