Evidence-based Content and Powerful Analytics
Elsevier, the leading publisher of scientific, technical and
medical information, announced today that Chris Dillon has joined Elsevier
Health Sciences as Managing Director for the Clinical Decision Support (CDS)
group. Dillon will assume responsibility for all CDS operations and strategy,
including product development, marketing and sales. He will provide overall
vision to further the CDS mission to help healthcare organizations improve
outcomes, streamline workflow and enhance care.
"Chris's impressive track record of running successful
technology-enabled healthcare businesses and his ability to anticipate the
needs of healthcare organizations and professionals across disciplines will
be indispensable," said Michael Hansen, Chief Executive Officer, Elsevier
Health Sciences. "Chris will help lead our efforts to achieve Elsevier's
mission to deliver accurate, evidence-based, interactive and consistent
answers to clinical questions, whenever and wherever the need arises."
CDS is Elsevier Health Sciences' point-of-care, payer, provider and
eLearning business unit, offering solutions for every member of the
healthcare team, from providers (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, allied
health professionals and educators) to administrators in finance and
operations. Working with feedback from customers, Dillon will help the CDS
business unit to refine Elsevier's knowledge solutions - from drug
information and interactive task guidance to care planning and process
improvement - so all clinical professionals receive the information they need
to make critical diagnostic and therapeutic decisions.
Dillon brings more than 30 years of experience in marketing,
management and sales of healthcare products and services to Elsevier's CDS
unit. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President of Marketing at Misys
Healthcare Systems, a leading physician practice EMR provider, where he
implemented "go-to-market" strategies. He also served as the Vice
President/General Manager of McKesson's specialty business, which provides
physicians with distribution, technology and clinical and educational
solutions.
Before his tenure at McKesson, Dillon headed strategic product
support at Biogen, a company involved in the discovery, development,
manufacturing and commercialization of innovative therapies. Dillon started
his career at Johnson & Johnson, where he spent 16 years in varied sales and
management positions. He received a BS in Business Administration from Ohio
State University.
