CONTRACTS WORTH $50 MILLION EXPAND ROLLS-ROYCE
PRESENCE IN ASIAN OIL & GAS MARKETS
Three new orders from Thailand and Malaysia for Rolls-Royce industrial gas
turbine equipment, valued at over $50 million, continue to strengthen the
Rolls-Royce position in Asia's important energy market.
Two of the orders relate to gas transmission projects in Thailand, where 21
Rolls-Royce units are already in service.
The first order is for two RB211 gas compression packages for the Arthit
offshore platform in the Gulf of Thailand, operated by PTT Exploration and
Production Public Company Ltd. (PTTEP). The units will deliver gas to PTT's
onshore gas separation plant via a transmission pipeline.
The second Thai order is for three RB211 Dry Low Emissions mechanical drive
packages for an onshore compressor station at Rayong operated by PTT Public
Company Ltd. The units, ordered on behalf of PTT by MAN Ferrostaal
Industrieanlagen GmbH (Germany), will drive compressor trains for onshore gas
transmission and will increase pipeline capacity to help meet future growth in
demand for gas in Thailand.
Once installed at the Rayong station, they will operate alongside seven
previously installed Rolls-Royce Avon and RB211 gas turbine packages.
Tom Curley, President of the energy business of Rolls-Royce, said: "Both these
projects are key components of PTT's gas pipeline master plan. We are excited
to be a part of this project which continues to expand the presence of
Rolls-Royce gas turbine equipment in the important Asian energy market."
The third order is for an additional RB211 gas compressor package driving a
Rolls-Royce centrifugal pipeline compressor at the Segamat plant of PETRONAS
Gas Berhad (PGB) in Western Malaysia.
It will operate alongside two other RB211s installed at the Segamat station in
1997. The order also includes work to upgrade the two existing compressors and
control system.

of subsidiary PTTEP, a leading exploration and production company in
Thailand.
2. The 21 Rolls-Royce gas turbines already installed in Thailand consist of 13
Avons, four RB211s and four 501s. The first units entered service in 1984
on offshore platforms in the Gulf of Thailand.
3. Malaysia's national petroleum corporation Petronas, short for Petroliam
Nasional Bhd, was established in 1974 and has since grown to be an
integrated international oil and gas company with business interests in 35
countries.
4. More than 600 Rolls-Royce industrial gas turbines are operating in the Asia
Pacific region, a total of 45 in Malaysia alone, all providing reliable
service to drive the country's expanding oil and gas industry. The fleet
consists of five Avons, 28 RB211s and 12 501s.
5. Rolls-Royce will assemble all the new turbine packages at its Mount Vernon,
Ohio facility with delivery during 2006
