Grant of Export Licences

SOFTWARE RADIO TECHNOLOGY PLC                         

                 GRANT OF EXPORT LICENCES FOR TETRA TECHNOLOGY                 

The Directors of Software Radio Technology plc ("SRT") are pleased to announce
that SRT has been granted export licences by the UK Government in respect of
the licensing of its TETRA technology to TCB, HYT and Hisense in China.

Advanced technology and products such as TETRA are subject to strict export
licensing restrictions. SRT has been working closely with the DTI to ensure
full compliance with all regulations. The licences enable SRT to complete the
delivery of its TETRA technology solution to customers so that they are able to
enter production of their handsets.

Shamus Kelly, SRT's Managing Director said, "The granting of these licences
reflects the extremely close relationship we have built with our customers, our
responsible approach to the licensing of national security technologies and our
expertise in operating in these often difficult areas."
