SOFTWARE RADIO TECHNOLOGY PLC
AGREEMENTS SIGNED FOR AIS CLASS B AND TETRA BASE STATION
The Directors of Software Radio Technology plc ("SRT") are pleased to announce
that SRT has signed two contracts, one for the supply of its AIS Class B
technology and the second to enable SRT to offer its customers TETRA
infrastructure equipment in addition to handsets.
AIS Class B
Following the announcement of the signing of heads of terms on 15 December
2005, SRT has entered into an agreement with Comar Systems Limited, a UK-based
manufacturer of AIS products.
Under the agreement, SRT's technology will provide the basis for Comar's AIS
Class B products, which are expected to be launched later this year. Comar
sells its products through a network of distributors and dealers and for use in
national level projects.
TETRA
SRT has also signed an agreement with Artevea Digital Limited, a UK-based
developer and supplier of TETRA base stations. SRT and Artevea have agreed to
collaborate to enable Artevea to supply its base station designs to SRT's TETRA
handset customers to enable them to develop localised TETRA infrastructure.
Simon Tucker, SRT's Commercial Director, said
"We have had an excellent response to the launch of our AIS Class B technology,
confirming our belief that the market will be substantial. Our technology will
enable multiple manufacturers to offer competitively priced products into the
market with SRT benefiting through royalties on every product sold.
"The agreement with Artevea allows SRT to offer TETRA infrastructure equipment
to our existing and future TETRA handset customer base. We believe there is
strong demand within our TETRA customer base for the ability to supply
infrastructure equipment as well as handsets. From SRT's perspective the
availability of localised TETRA infrastructure, optimised to our TETRA handset
technology, will facilitate the spread of TETRA networks and therefore more
sales of handsets and royalties for SRT."
