Trading Halt on the ASX

Range Resources Ltd ("Range") wishes to advise that trading in its securities
on the Australian Securities Exchange ("ASX") has been halted pending the
release of an announcement in relation to the election results in Puntland,
Somalia, where Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed "Farole," has been appointed the fourth
President of Puntland.

It is expected that an announcement providing further details on this
development will be released prior to the commencement of trading on Tuesday,
13 January 2009 and that trading in its securities will then resume on the
ASX. Range's shares will continue to trade on the AIM market during this
period.
