Investment Manager Update

The Board notes the announcements by its Investment Manager, GVO Investment
Management Limited ("GVOIM") and RIT Capital Partners plc ("RIT").

RIT has entered into an agreement to acquire GVOIM from Hansa
Aktiengesellschaft ("Hansa"), subject to regulatory approval. The transaction
is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2015.

GVOIM will continue to operate as a separate legal entity with the same
autonomous management team, structure and investment process. Stuart Widdowson
and Jeff Harris will continue as manager and assistant manager respectively to
the Company. Their roles and responsibilities will remain unchanged.

RIT will acquire Hansa's stake in the Company on completion of the transaction.

The Board looks forward to continuing to work closely with GVOIM and its new
owner RIT in helping continue to deliver strong long term returns for
shareholders.
