SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGES IN NEW YORK AND LONDON
John Abularrage to be Chief Executive Officer the Americas
Martin Lynch to be Chief Operating Officer the Americas
London and New Jersey, 18 March 2011: Tullett Prebon plc, ("Tullett Prebon")
announces that John Abularrage has been appointed to become the next Chief Executive
Officer ("CEO") the Americas, succeeding Marcus Bolton. Martin Lynch has also
been appointed into the new created regional management role of Chief Operating
Officer ("COO") the Americas.
Both John and Martin join the Company from Collins Stewart Inc. John has been
CEO of that business since January 2009, having joined Collins Stewart in 2001
as a Director and becoming Head of Equities at that firm's London office in
2005. Before joining Collins Stewart John was an equity salesman at ABN Amro.
He was educated at Georgetown University School of Business gaining a BSc in
Business Administration. Martin has been Chief Financial Officer of Collins
Stewart Inc since July 2008 having joined that firm as a Risk Manager in 2002
and becoming Finance Director of that firm's Capital Markets division in 2006.
He was educated at the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom where he
gained a BA in History and is a Chartered Certified Accountant.
The effective dates for these appointments are still to be confirmed.
Commenting on the appointment, Terry Smith Chief Executive Officer of Tullett
Prebon said "Our Americas business remains one of our most valuable. In
appointing John and Martin into these important roles we are increasing our
regional management capability at an important time as we continue to rebuild
our Americas business. As we reported in our Preliminary Results for 2010
earlier this month the Company has made excellent progress in re-establishing
its presence in all of the major product areas in North America. Including a
twenty-six strong credit team, who started with the business in January this
year, our broker headcount on the affected desks is now largely back to
previous levels; and the closure of our small satellite offices will allow
management to focus on our two main offices in the Americas."
