United Utilities Group PLC confirms Russ Houlden's appointment with effect from
1 October 2010 to the Board as Chief Financial Officer, in line with the
announcements made on 18 May 2010 and 23 July 2010.

In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.13 (1), United Utilities Group PLC
discloses that Russ Houlden was Chief Financial Officer of Telecom Corporation
of New Zealand Limited from 2008 to 2010 and was a director of TCNZ Finance
Limited. There are no further details to disclose under paragraph 9.6.13 (2) to
(6) of the Listing Rules in relation to Russ Houlden.
