UNITED UTILITIES INVESTOR PRESENTATION
United Utilities is today holding a presentation for investors and analysts
covering various aspects of its business. The presentation will commence at
9.00am at the company's head office in Warrington. The key messages are set out
below.
United Utilities has been transformed over the last two years and is now
focused on its core skills of managing utility infrastructure. This focus has
helped deliver operational performance and customer service improvements, with
more expected, as the company prepares for the next water regulatory price
review in 2009.
Cumulative capital expenditure on both United Utilities' water and wastewater
investment programmes is broadly in line with regulatory assumptions. This
follows agreement with Ofwat on the company's revised sludge programme.
Overall, management remains confident of delivering the company's regulatory
outputs and efficiency targets over the 2005-10 regulatory review period.
The company believes that capital investment will continue at or around current
levels after 2010 to deliver benefits for customers and the environment and
help adapt to climate change. This, in turn, should drive further growth for
United Utilities.
The group has a clear strategy for growth in its non-regulated business based
on applying its core utility skills, on an asset-light basis, in four key
markets: UK utility outsourcing, UK municipal solid waste treatment, the Gulf
region and Australia. United Utilities' non-regulated activities provide the
opportunity to deliver additional shareholder value with little impact on the
risk profile of the group.
The presentation and scripts will be available on the company's website (
www.unitedutilities.com).
