New Non-Executive Board Director

As previously announced, Ian Derek Marchant joined the Board of John Wood Group
PLC ("Wood Group") on 19 May 2006 as a Non-Executive Director.

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 (1) of the Listing Rules, Ian Marchant has
advised that, during the past five years, he has been appointed as a director
to the following publicly listed companies:

Scottish and Southern Energy plc           - appointed 14.12.1998 
SSE Services plc                           - appointed 01.06.1996 

Southern Electricity plc                   - appointed 28.05.1996 and resigned 14.10.2002
Southern Electric Power Distribution PLC   - appointed 19.03.2001 and resigned 01.10.2002

Ian Marchant confirms that there are no other details which require to be
disclosed under the Listing Rules LR 9.6.13 R (2) to (6).

Ian Marchant does not have any interests in the shares of Wood Group.
