The Listing Rules - Chapter 16, Paragraph 16.7
New Director Appointment
3i Group plc announces the appointment of Mr Fred G Steingraber as a
non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 January 2002.
Mr Steingraber (aged 63) is Chairman Emeritus of A.T. Kearney Inc., of which
he was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer until 2000. Mr
Steingraber is also a director of Maytag Corporation and John Hancock
Financial Trends Fund and a member of the Supervisory Board of Continental AG,
having worked in Germany for nine years.
There are no other details required to be disclosed in accordance with
paragraph 16.4 of the London Stock Exchange's Listing Rules.
