'3i Group plc Announcement

Application is being made to the UK Listing Authority and The London Stock
Exchange for three blocklistings and their respective admissions to trading.

Each of the three blocklistings and admissions to trading is for 250,000
unissued shares of 50p each in the capital of 3i Group plc.

The blocklistings will be used for the future allotment of fully paid shares
under The 3i Group Share Incentive Plan, The 3i Group 1994 Executive Share
Option Plan and The 3i Group Discretionary Share Plan respectively.'
