On 7 January 2008 the Directors and persons discharging managerial
responsibilities ('PDMRs') of 3i Group plc (the 'Company') listed below acquired
interests in the ordinary shares of 73 19/22p each in the Company ('Shares') as
detailed below at a price of £9.645 per Share. These interests were acquired
through the re-investment of the Company's interim dividend paid on 2 January
2008 on Shares which were the subject of share awards held under the rules of
The 3i Group Discretionary Share Plan.
