3i Group plc: Timetable for final results in respect of the year ended 
31 March 2002


The Meeting of the Committee of the Board of 3i Group plc at which the results
for the year to 31 March 2002 are due to be approved, and the final dividend
recommended, has been convened for the afternoon of Wednesday 15 May 2002. The
preliminary announcement of the results will be released by notification to the
London Stock Exchange before 8.00am on THURSDAY 16 MAY 2002.

The expected financial calendar is as follows:

Post accounts to shareholders    Friday 31 May 2002

Final dividend record date       Friday 21 June 2002

Final dividend payment date      Friday 19 July 2002
