The Board of Standard Life plc announces that Trevor Matthews yesterday resigned
as Chief Executive of UK Financial Services, and from the Board.

Sandy Crombie, Group Chief Executive, will lead UK Financial Services until a
successor for Trevor Matthews has been appointed.

Sandy Crombie said 'Trevor Matthews, with his experience of Australia, Japan and
Canada, played an important role during our transition from a mutual business to
a listed plc.  We have a strong team who, I'm sure, will relish the opportunity
to continue the growth in our UK Business'.
